The St Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic organisation that aspires to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy and by working to shape a more just and compassionate society
The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recognised as a caring Catholic charity offering “a hand up” to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.

The core entity of the St Vincent de Paul Society is the conference you belong to, which is usually part of a local Catholic Parish Community. The society, in each conference, welcomes lay people, men and women just like yourself, who sit next to you in Church, but who try to do something more about their Faith than just going to Mass. They are from all walks of life and from all parts of the community who seek to express their faith through service to the poor. Your passion and talent in service the poor will be received with open arms.
The Society provides a range of services to support people in need, they include:
- Home, hospital visitation
- Youth & young adult programs
- Family care and support
- Food distribution and feeding schemes
- Distribution of Blankets
- Bags of Love to the poor & Elderly
- Christmas gifts to Creches
- Easter Egg packs to Creches
