SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM:
The Sacrament of Baptism was instituted by Jesus, and He tells us how important it is in His conversation with Nicodemus, when He says; “I tell you most solemnly, unless a man is born again through water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” (John 3:3). Mark’s Gospel: “Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation. Then he who believes and is baptised will be saved.” (Mark 16:16).
What does Baptism do for us? It takes away Original Sin, and any Actual Sin which the one being baptised may have committed. If the one being baptised (an adult, obviously) has real sorrow, then the Sacrament also removes all punishment due to sin. It fills us with grace, this wonderful, supernatural gift of God which gives us a share in His Divine life: so it is the beginning of our relationship with the Lord.
Parents and Godparents of children requiring the Sacrament of Baptism must make an appointment to see our Parish Priest. The parents and godparents to attend the Pre-Baptism instruction class given by our Parish Deacon on the last Saturday of the month at 11:00am.
