The Church of the Resurrection in Table View, Cape Town, has grown alongside its community since its establishment in the late 1970s to serve the area’s increasing Catholic population. Mass was first celebrated in the parish hall until the church was built and dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ in 1987 by Archbishop Stephen Naidoo, and consecrated in 1996 by Archbishop Lawrence Henry, who placed a relic of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the parish’s secondary patron, in the altar.

Over the years, the parish has expanded its facilities with classrooms and ministry spaces and has been guided by successive priests who have nurtured its spiritual growth and outreach. Actively involved in social justice initiatives and community programs, the Church of the Resurrection remains a vibrant center of Catholic life, offering worship, sacraments, and spiritual opportunities for parishioners of all ages.
