Sodalities

Faith in Action

Our parish sodalities offer meaningful opportunities for members to grow in faith, serve others, and build a strong sense of community. Groups such as the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), Legion of Mary, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Andrew’s Library each play a unique and vital role in parish life—through prayer, outreach, charity, and spiritual enrichment. These sodalities provide spaces for fellowship, formation, and active participation in the mission of the Church.

Through their work whether supporting those in need, fostering devotion, encouraging learning, or strengthening family and community life they reflect our shared commitment to living the Gospel in practical and impactful ways. We warmly invite all parishioners to explore these groups and consider becoming part of a community rooted in faith, service, and fellowship.

What We Offer

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Our mission at the St Vincent de Paul Society is to live out the Gospel by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy. We are committed to building a more just and compassionate society through both service and advocacy, offering hope, dignity, and practical support to those in need.

Members join through local parish-based groups and come from all walks of life, united by a shared desire to serve the marginalized. Our work includes home and hospital visits, youth programs, family support initiatives, and outreach efforts such as food distribution and gift-giving. Through these acts of service, we aim to empower individuals and restore a sense of hope and self-worth. We warmly welcome anyone with a heart for service to join us in this mission. Meetings are held monthly on Saturdays at 09:00, providing a space for fellowship, planning, and mutual support in our work.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a global Catholic lay organization where men, women, and youth grow in holiness through prayer and apostolic work, guided by Our Lady and a spiritual director. Its goal is to strengthen members’ faith and uplift the wider community through active engagement with all members of the Mystical Body of Christ. Weekly meetings include the Rosary, spiritual readings, a talk from the Spiritual Director, discussions on doctrine and devotion, and review of ongoing work. Each member is assigned two hours of apostolic work per week, reported at the next meeting. There are 2 groups, senior and junior for the Legion of Mary.

Meetings Times:

Senior – Sunday after 7:30 mass

Junior – Sunday after the 9 :00 mass

Catholic Women's League

The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) lives by its motto: Charity, Work, and Loyalty. Within the parish, members support our priests, assist local schools, care for Altar Servers’ vestments, manage the repository, and provide refreshments after Masses, funerals, and First Holy Communion celebrations. Beyond the parish, they supply clothing, toiletries, and hampers to hospitals, clinics, the elderly, and needy institutions, and contribute to initiatives like the Clothing Guild. They also support families at the Burns Unit and Du Noon Clinic, and provide seasonal gifts during Christmas and winter months.

Meeting monthly with morning and evening options, the CWL offers parishioners the opportunity to serve, grow in faith, and enjoy fellowship while making a real difference in the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are parish sodalities?

Parish sodalities are groups within the church that bring people together to grow in faith, serve the community, and support the mission of the Church through prayer, outreach, and fellowship.

All parishioners are welcome to join. Each group may have a specific focus or membership (such as women’s groups or service-based ministries), but there is something for everyone.

Activities vary by group and may include prayer meetings, community outreach, charity work, visiting the sick or needy, educational initiatives, and supporting parish events.
