Sacraments

Christ’s Grace in Action

In the Catholic Church, the seven sacraments Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony are efficacious signs instituted by Christ that confer the grace they signify, acting ex opere operato through the power of the Incarnate Word. As Pope St. Leo the Great said, “What was visible in Christ has passed over into the sacraments of the Church,” extending the reality of his Passion, death, and Resurrection into the lives of the faithful. Through them, believers share in divine life, grow in holiness, and are united more fully to Christ and one another in the work of salvation.

Our sacramental programs guide people of all ages to encounter Christ and grow in grace from preparing children for Baptism, First Reconciliation, and First Communion, to guiding youth through Confirmation formation, to supporting adults in Matrimony preparation, RCIA, and ongoing sacramental enrichment.

What We Offer

Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is a joyful beginning in the Christian life, marking entry into a lifelong journey of faith. Through the pouring or immersion in water, with prayers and blessings, infants, children, or adults are welcomed into the Church community. Baptism removes original sin and unites the baptized with Christ and His Church. It is a moment of spiritual rebirth and grace, calling each person to live the Gospel faithfully.

Families seeking baptism are invited to contact the parish office to begin the process and schedule the celebration. Our team will assist with preparation, required documents, and guidance for godparents. Please reach out to arrange this sacred celebration of faith and community.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also called Confession or Penance, is a celebration of God’s mercy and forgiveness. In this sacrament, a person confesses sins to a priest and receives absolution through the ministry of the Church. Reconciliation brings spiritual healing, renewal, and restored unity with God and the community. Catholics are encouraged to receive this sacrament regularly, especially after serious sin, and also for ongoing spiritual growth through the confession of venial sins.

Confession Times: Wed: 08:15 – 08:45, Sat: 16:45 – 17:15
Winter months (June–September): Sat 16:00 – 16:40

Sacraments of Marriage

Couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage are asked to contact the parish at least six months before their proposed wedding date. Early communication with the Parish Priest ensures time to complete the required pre-nuptial documentation and necessary preparations.

As part of their formation, couples are expected to participate in a seven-week marriage preparation course. Details and registration information are available through the provided link.

To begin the process, please contact the parish office to arrange an appointment and start your journey toward the Sacrament of Marriage.

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick offers spiritual strength and comfort to those facing serious illness or the frailty of old age. Administered by a priest, it includes the anointing of the forehead and hands with blessed oil, accompanied by prayers for healing and forgiveness.

This sacrament brings grace, peace, and assurance of God’s presence in times of suffering. While often associated with those near death, it is available to anyone seriously ill, offering spiritual healing and, when God wills, physical restoration.

It is a powerful sign of Christ’s compassion and the Church’s support. Please contact the parish office or one of our clergy directly to arrange Anointing of the Sick.
